Tham Nam Talu (Nam Talu Cave) is located in the area of the Protection Unit at Kor Sor 4️(Khlong Pae). Traveling by boat from Ban Chiew Lan Municipal Tourist Pier to the Protection Unit at Kor Sor 4️(Khlong Pae). about 1️ hour and then take a boat to the starting point for about 1️5 minutes, walk to the mouth of the cave about 3️ km. Tham Nam Thalu is a large cave. This coral reef is said to have been five times longer than Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, stretching from China to Borneo. Some of the karsts rise up to almost 1,000 metres high, making them three times the height of those in nearby Phang Nga Bay and Halong Bay in Vietnam. The National Park consists of: 40% foothill rainforest 27% rainforest plains 15% limestone crag vegetation 15% lowland scrub 3% rainforest at 600-1,000 metres The nature here has more in common with the Malaysian forest than the forest in the north of Thailand. Compared to those of the north, the forest in Khao Sok is taller, darker, more humid and evergreen.

The best way to do it is to book a tour from our recommended tours and use the free transfers as included in the tours on offer. Joint transfers to/from Khao Sok National park via the major southern tourist destinations are available including Phuket, Khao Lak, Krabi, Koh Samui, Khanorm and Surat Thani. How to get to these pick up locations? Airport Transfers: You can fly into any of the following airports with connecting flights via Bangkok and some direct flights from overseas into Phuket and Krabi: Surat Thani If travelling from Bangkok we would recommend flying into Surat Thani Airport (URT) on flight TG2251, arriving at 09:40am. Arriving on this flight will mean that if you head directly to Khao Sok you should arrive well in time for midday and lunch! This giver you plenty of opportunity to undertake some activities in and around Khao Sok in the afternoon of your first day without being tired from an early flight. Surat Thani is also the closest airport to Khao Sok and the most stress free due to its small size and relaxed vibe. Let the adventure begin Book Now! Phuket With the most frequent flights Phuket airport is the easiest option. There are even direct overseas flights from Europe and Australia into Phuket Airport making it perfect arrival point for your trip to Khao Sok. You can either (if travelling from Bangkok) flight down on the TG 201 arriving in Phuket at 09:10 and head straight to Khao Sok or spend a night at one of the beaches on Phuket before starting your Khao Sok adventure the following morning. As drive times from Phuket to Khao Sok are in the region of 3 / 4 hours depending on where you stay we would recommend at least one night in Phuket if you are travelling direct from overseas to recover from the jet lag and get the most from your experience at Khao Sok. Krabi There are regular flights from Bangkok to Krabi and also some international flights direct into Krabi from locations such as Singapore and Australia. Similar to Phuket airport but on a smaller scale our recommendations for Krabi airport would be the same. Arrive early to make it in time for some afternoon adventure in Khao Sok or spend the night at Ao Phra Nang beach and start your adventure in the morning the following day Koh Samui Koh Samui also has an airport with frequent flights every day of the week and is not that far from Khao Sok national park, in fact it is in the same province even though Samui is an island! You can catch a ferry from Koh Samui to the mainland and Donsak pier for further transfers by minibus or coach through to Khao Sok. The ferry transfer also makes for a nice addition to the beautiful road transfer through to Khao Sok.
